This page informs you of our policy regarding the processing, collection, use and disclosure of personal information we receive from users of the Site and or subscribers to our services.

By subscribing to our services you authorise Osidon and it’s representatives to collect, use, distribute, review and process any personal information provided to Osidon where we are legally required to do so.

We respect your right to privacy and are committed to protect your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect in accordance with the conditions for the lawful processing of personal information, our Privacy Policy, Internal Security Policies and the law.

You agree that any personal information you provide to us is information that you voluntarily provide. You also agree that if you don’t provide the necessary personal information, we may not be able to comply with our obligations in terms of the Services Agreement.

You confirm that we may share your personal information within the Osidon Group of companies for administration; fraud prevention; and where necessary to provide Group-wide services, benefits and infrastructure to service you in your personal or professional capacity.

You hereby confirm that you understand and consent that Osidon Advisory (Pty) Ltd as Juristic Representative of Discovery Life Limited and Osidon Independent Financial Services as Juristic Representative of Growth House (Pty) Ltd may share your personal details with providers such as Funds, Insurance Suppliers, etc. in order to provide advice and other financial services as defined in the FAIS act in respect of products and policies approved and endorsed by Growth House (Pty) Ltd and Discovery Life Limited.

You agree that we may transfer your personal information outside South Africa if you give us an email address that is hosted outside South Africa and or to administer certain services, for example, cloud services.

What we do with your Personal Information:

We use your personal information for:

  • providing services subscribed to which may include accounting, tax, compliance and financial advisory services;
  • to comply with our compulsory legal and regulatory obligations and requirements;
  • administering, managing and improving the Site, systems and mobile applications;
  • fraud prevention;
  • to improve our marketing conversion rates.

We may also in some limited cases use your data to promote or introduce some of our own services. In the case of using personal information for promotional purposes you will have the option to opt-out of the communication.

Where we partner with other organisations that provide value add services we may share anonymised data with them for functionality purposes, but where personal information will be shared we will always ask for your permission.

If we become involved in a proposed or actual merger, acquisition or any form of sale of any assets, we have the right to share your Personal Information with third parties in connection with the transaction. In the case of a merger, acquisition or sale, the new entity will have access to your Personal Information. The terms of this Privacy Policy will continue to apply.

How your Personal Information is stored and protected:

Your personal information is stored on servers that use cyber security industry best practices. The location of these servers are in the USA and may have GEO redundancy capabilities in other countries as well.

For development and or security purposes we may also move data to servers that one of our service providers manage in countries outside of the USA. Osidon do not own these servers and are using them through a service level agreement with AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.

Credit / Debit Card Details are not stored in any database online; PeachPayments and Payfast hosts and manages the payment page in its PCI compliant data centre.

We will never collect special personal information about you without your explicit consent.

Access to personal information is not provided to employees or parties of outside of Osidon unless otherwise agreed and we do not sell your data to any third parties.

We implement best practises and industry standard to protect all our systems and staff computers. If any security issues or concerns are discovered please immediately report them to Osidon using the official contact details on this website.

The type of information we collect:

We collect all data and personal information provided by you to Osidon which may include:

  • Your Full Names;
  • Unique identifiers such as your identity number, and contact details;
  • Your addresses;
  • Tax information;
  • Financial information

We log data and like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site. This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

Our systems may integrate with accounting, tax, payroll and financial services software providers which may pull personal information and data from our system or collect data we have access to on the other systems to enhance our service delivery to you and to adhere with your compliance obligations and financial service requirements.

Retention of Personal Information data:

As a compliance service provider with numerous legal reporting obligations we keep data as prescribed in various pieces of legislation. Some information will be retained indefinitely for security and compliance purposes. If no time period is prescribed by law we anonymise all data after a period of 7 years. If information cannot be deleted we will take all steps to make it anonymous.

We are required to collect and keep personal information in terms of the following laws, amongst others:

Recording of Communication:

As part of Osidon’s integrated communication system all communication with Osidon including; calls, video conferencing meetings, sms, chat and e-mail communication may be recorded for service, analysis, quality and training purposes. This may include processing data into transcriptions and searchable big data lakes to enhance service offerings with Artificial Intelligence and for the purposes of training of such technology. The communication recordings remain the proprietary information of Osidon and will not be disclosed to the client. A lawful request for disclosure of these recordings will be subject to an admin fee charged for such disclosure/s.

You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you. If you wish to access this information:

  • We will take all reasonable steps to confirm Your identity before providing details of your Personal Information.
  • We are entitled to charge a fee for this service which will be disclosed at the time of the request.
